Upland Bird Hunts
As a Texas hunting Preserve, we offer Guided Upland Bird hunts for Pheasant, Quail, and Chukar. Hunt the Texas hill country for some fast-paced hunting action with a guide, your dogs or ours. We offer half day hunts, full day hunts, and overnight all-inclusive bird hunting packages. You can also add a bird hunt to any big game hunting package offered here at Rancho Madrono when in season. The Upland Bird Hunting season runs from October through March, but you will want to always check seasonal dates and availability prior to scheduling.
Hunt with some of Texas’ finest gun dogs. Our expertly trained dogs, along with their skilled handlers, create the perfect day afield. From points and flushes to the last shot of the day, our seasoned outfitters work hard to make your hunt memorable and action-packed.
Pheasant Hunts
Pheasant are always a challenging hunt and make for a great meal. The biggest bird we offer and no doubt, if your aim is true, will fill your cooler. Rancho Madrono offers fully guided Pheasant hunts with or without the use of bird dogs. You the hunter have the option to bring your own bird dog for the scheduled Pheasant hunts at no extra charge. Give us a call if you would like to discuss a schedule for multiple day hunts through the season. Use this time to train or work with your dog on a regular schedule. Overnight lodging and meals can be arranged in one of our three premier hunting lodges. Rancho Madrono can also offer a fully guided pheasant hunting trip with a professional bird dog guide. You will be hunting over fully trained professional bird dogs. You will need a minimum of two pheasant hunters for all bird hunts. All pricing reflects a full day of hunting, most hunts will last a morning unless additional birds are added to your hunting trip.

Quail Hunts
Quail are always a challenge and make for a fast-paced hunt. Experience the anticipation and excitement of bird dogs on point followed by the explosion of a covey of quail into the air. Join us for an exciting day of quail hunting at the ranch. We offer all-inclusive fully guided quail hunts that start with a minimum of two hunters. Each quail hunting package includes ten quail per hunter and guide. Overnight lodging and meals can be arranged in one of our three premier hunting lodges. Rancho Madrono can also offer a fully guided hunting trip with a professional bird dog guide. You will be hunting over fully trained professional bird dogs for a full day of hunting action. You the hunter have the option to bring your own bird dog for the scheduled quail hunts at no extra charge. Chukar Partridge Hunts
Challenge yourself to a half-day chukar hunt. Hunt these fast-flying game birds that offer challenging wing-shooting. We offer all-inclusive fully guided Chukar hunts that start with a minimum of two hunters. Each Chukar hunting package includes 10 Chukar per hunter and guide. Overnight lodging and meals can be arranged in one of our three premier hunting lodges. Rancho Madrono can also offer a fully guided hunting trip with a professional bird dog guide. You will be hunting over fully trained professional bird dogs for a full day of hunting action. You the hunter have the option to bring your own bird dog for the scheduled Chukar hunts at no extra charge. Add-Ons Hunts
Add a ½ day Pheasant Hunt, Chukar Hunt, or Quail Hunt to any big game hunting package. You may add a ½ day hunt to a Whitetail Buck Hunt, Axis Buck Hunt, other exotic hunt, or a Spring Turkey Hunt.
A 50% nonrefundable deposit is required to secure all hunt dates. Once an invoice is submitted the minimum 50% deposit must be received in order to hold the requested hunt dates. If for any reason you cannot make your hunt date and Rancho Madroño is notified in writing within 30 days of the scheduled hunt date, you can reschedule up to one year from your previous scheduled dates.
